I’m still in disbelief with what happened to Marna and Patti. They’re still a little too young for that big of a step. Although, I was a little ticked with the direction their relationship went, even if it was insanely cute. I really loved Anna’s character development from the first book, she’s grown since that first sexy snide comment that Kai made to her. Anna and Kaidan’s relationship is cute and sexy at the same time. There were just so many cute moments – and sexy ones too – that I wanted to know what happened! I couldn’t put it down. I’ll admit, I devoured this book at work on Monday. But even the best-laid plans don’t always work out. Luckily, her father comes up with a plan that would give everyone what they want, and keep the final battle from coming for a small while. Phazeruph is determined to smell her and she can only run for so long. He even gets so desperate that he sends Kai to her and it’s only by a small miracle that they avoid doing the deed. So Phazeruph – Kaidan’s dad – is sending Nephilim and humans after her so that way he can smell her to see if she is still ‘pure’ and if she really is the one who will bring the prophecy. They know of the prophecy and they think that she is the one who will bring it. But why are whisperers following her when the demon lords seemed to trust her six months after that summit meeting? Anna and Kaidan can’t fight their feelings for each other – not since they’ve declared them – and it’s getting hard to hide them when she is being followed by whisperers every day. Not when they know that no matter what they do they can’t be trusted. With the death of their ally Flynn, Anna and the other Nephilim on her side can no longer pretend to work for their demon fathers.
